Quick Tips for New Tradespeople

  • Always arrive on time. Double-check your shift start time so you’re ready to work when scheduled. If you’re running late or can’t make a shift, please inform your local team at least four hours prior to your scheduled start time. More on attendance policies here.
  • Make a great first impression. Introduce yourself to the customer when you arrive, offering a handshake and letting them know you’re ready to work.
  • Listen carefully. Pay attention to all instructions given by the PRST team and the customer.
  • Be a team player. Please treat those around you with kindness and respect.
  • Work hard to impress. Strive to build a positive reputation with customers and increase your chances of being invited back to work.
  • Keep yourself and others safe. Ensure you have all personal protective equipment ready at least 48 hours before your shift start time. If you’re hurt on the job and sustain any injury, please report your injury to your site supervisor immediately. If your emergency is serious or life-threatening, please call 911.
  • Use approved break times. Only take breaks during approved break times to ensure that you’re providing the customer with the support they need.
  • Earn even more. Take home extra cash for every new tradesperson you refer to PRST via our referral program!
